Based on one of the most popular movie comedies of all time, 9 to 5 features a brand new score by seven-time Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton that includes the blockbuster title song. Opening on Broadway in 2009, it received an unprecedented 15 Drama Desk Award nominations. Delight in the antics of Violet, the super-efficient office manager, Judy, the frazzled divorcée, and Doralee, the sexy secretary, as they turn the tables on their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” of a boss, Franklin Hart, Jr.!
Curt Olds (Franklin Hart, Jr.) With a busy career in both opera and musical theatre, Curt has appeared in productions ranging from Don Pasquale and The Magic Flute, to musicals like A Little Night Music at North Shore Music Theatre and Off- Broadway’sThree Penny Opera at the Lucille Lortel. Other Off-Broadway credits include Cecil inA Room with a View at the York Theatre, Noël Coward in Pop! at Symphony Space as well as productions at New York City Opera.
On Broadway, Curt was seen in Riverdance and internationally he appeared in the German production of Cats. Regionally, he appeared in White Christmas (Bob Wallace),Kiss Me, Kate (Fred),Annie Get Your Gun(Frank), Oklahoma! (Will Parker) receiving a 2012
Denver Marlowe Award, and Mikado (Ko-Ko) receiving a 2012 Canadian Sterling Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. As a recording and voice-over artist, Curt has recorded numerous commercials and material for clients including Planet Hollywood Casinos, Books Beyond Pages, Ethan Allen Furniture, and the syndicated PBS feature Northwest Explorer. Curt is also featured on the soundtrack of the Disney-animated film A Christmas Carol.
He has appeared with over 30 symphony orchestras across the U.S., singing Broadway Pops concerts and he received a Master’s Degree from New England Conservatory. Recent 2013 credits include The Most Happy Fella (Herman) with Tulsa Opera and The Magic Flute (Papageno) with Opera-on-the-James. Upcoming 2013 engagements include Showboat (Frank) with Denver Center and Central City Opera and HMS Pinafore (Captain Corcoran) with Arizona Opera. Member of AEA (Actors Equity Association).

In celebration of 9 to 5‘s office heroines, ABT has partnered with a wonderful nonprofit – Dress For Success Phoenix. Dress for Success Phoenix promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. On Thursday, April 18, ABT will be collecting business and interview-appropriate accessories at the box office as part of “Dress For Success Day at Arizona Broadway Theatre.” Dress For Success Phoenix will also be the focal point in the theatre’s foyer during the run of 9 to 5.
