***AUDITION INFORMATION UPDATE***

Due to the recent Winter Storm, ABT’s Casting Producers were unable to get into NYC this week, and our round of auditions had to be cancelled. We have managed to RESCHEDULE everything for Monday, February 1 to Wednesday, February 3. Those who were granted an audition appointment will be contacted regarding rescheduling their appointments. Those who were planning on attending the Open Dance Call, it has been changed to Wednesday, February 3 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Pearl Studios NYC (500 8th Avenue, 12th Floor).

Arizona Broadway Theatre is holding non-Equity and specific Equity auditions by appointment only on Monday, February 1, 2016, for roles and shows during its 11th season. (All are non-Equity offers except where indicated).

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF:

Rehearsals begin February 7, 2016; Runs February 26 – April 3, 2016.

Specifically seeking:

Tevye: Tevye is a likeable, hard-working, pious man who sees the positive side of life. Strong patriarch but gentle father of 5 daughters he has raised according to the Scriptures. He is humorous and relaxed, but when pushed, can show stubbornness and rage. Strong actor who must carry the show and have a good connection with the audience. Male, 35 – 60; Baritone.

 

BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS:

Rehearsals begin March 28, 2016; Runs April 15 – May 8, 2016

Specifically seeking the following:

Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd: (AEA or non-Equity) Sheriff of LaGrange, Texas. He’s a down-home, cowboy type, lovingly curmudgeonly more than a little rough around the edges. He’s a “live and let live” type, though, surprisingly liberal in his thinking and his language. Male, plays 40-50; Baritone

ROCK OF AGES:

Rehearsals begin May 7, 2016; Runs May 27 – June 19, 2016

Drew: An appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm, vulnerability and a very strong rock tenor voice. Drew works at the legendary Bourbon Room hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the beautiful new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams.

Lonny: The narrator of the piece, charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality, a guy who would be fun to spend one drunken night with. Strong, honest comedic timing/improv skills and strong rock vocals.

Dennis Dupree: Classic stoner type guy who runs the famous Bourbon Room club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing. A laid back, easy going dude. Bari-tenor rock vocals.

Stacee Jaxx: A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self-important, confident intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. Great strong comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice.

Justice/Mother: African American female, strong presence, an easy sensuality about her, once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed.

Hertz Klinemann: An attractive older German male. Uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece. Strong comedic timing and baritone vocals.

Franz Klinemann: Hertz’s son, young German male. Works for his father but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle with a big heart. Strong vocals and comedic timing.

Mayor/Ja'keith/Father/Ensemble: A strong character actor with good comedic timing to play numerous roles, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability.

Joey Primo/Ensemble: A young male with the rocker sensibility, strong rock tenor and strong/dance/movement ability, possible US for Drew/Stacee.

Female Ensemble: Three of the sexiest female singer/dancers around. Sassy, in shape, beautiful. Must be comfortable in very skimpy/sexy clothing. Strong dancers proficient in jazz and modern, comedic ability and strong rock vocals. Will US principal roles.

 

SHREK The MUSICAL:

Rehearsals begin June 26, 2016; Run July 15 – August 14, 2016

The role of Lord Farquaad has been cast. All other roles open.

 

PAGEANT:

Rehearsals begin August 8, 2016; Run August 26 – September 18, 2016

The roles of Miss West Coast and Miss Texas have been cast. All other roles open. If auditioning for Pageant, please bring character heels to the audition.

Specifically seeking:

Frankie Cavaliere: The genial host of the Miss Glamouresse Pageant. Frankie is a third or fourth-tier celebrity - perhaps a weekend weatherman or a spokesman for a used car dealership. Strong singer who moves well.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Public Relations Manager 

The primary purpose and function of the Public Relations Manager is to execute the multi-faceted media and branding strategy, within budget, with the direct intent of increasing brand recognition, audience expansion and revenue for the Arizona Broadway Theatre, as directed by the Director of Business Development.

Education and Experience Requested:

  • Bachelor degree in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years manager-level experience with the tactical execution of PR/marketing strategies
  • 1-3 years social media management/strategy with a strong social presence of their own
  • Experience crafting press releases, articles, executive presentations, speeches, etc.
  • Experience optimizing social media to elevate brand recognition
  • Knowledge of relevant social platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram)
  • Analytical mind and comprehensive reporting experience
  • Superb accuracy and strong attention to detail, with a good understanding of the big picture vision of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-motivated and self-managed; able to think and work independently
  • Strong computer experience using Microsoft Office/Macintosh
  • Position is required to meet tight deadlines with significant flexibility to react to layout/message changes

Salary range is $42,000-$46,000, annually, DOE
