GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION
Arizona Broadway Theatre is holding youth auditions for our upcoming production of The King & I on November 14, 2015, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Boys and girls with good singing voices and stage presence are needed to play the Royal Children of Siam. We are looking for children between 48” (4’) and 62” (5’2”) tall, who can play ages 7-12 years old. PLEASE NOTE: there will not be auditions for the roles of Louis Leonowens and Prince Chulalongkorn at this time.
The auditions will start promptly at 6 p.m. No appointment or advance preparation is necessary; the children will be taught the music at the audition. Parents should bring a headshot (or picture) of their child and a resume (if available) to the auditions. Enter through the Stage Door at the back of the theatre.
Youth rehearsals will begin the second week of December. The run of the show is from January 9 – February 15. Additional rehearsal and performance information will be made available at the auditions.

We are also accepting non-equity submissions immediately for the following roles in our upcoming 2014-2015 season:
THE KING & I (December 17, 2014 - February 15, 2015)
Lady Thiang – Plays 30s-40s. Head wife of the King and mother of the Crown Prince. Steady influence in the court. Strong, discreet, loving. Strong singer/character actor needed. Alto/2nd Soprano, Asian/Asian-American/Latino preferred.
Lun Tha – Plays 20s. Emissary to the Prince of Burma; courageous yet doomed lover of Tuptim. Frustrated by his powerlessness. Lyric baritone/tenor, Asian/Asian-American/Latino preferred.
Male Ensemble – 18-30. Seeking talented dancers who sing for the male ensemble, Asian/Asian-American/Latino preferred.

ABT is a professional non-equity dinner theatre that hires talent nationwide for its fully staged musicals. Equity actors are considered for certain roles, which will be listed as such in audition notices. ABT is not a participating EMC theatre.

ABT currently welcomes a variety of interns from communications to props. Students may apply for one of three available sessions with each application (fall, spring and summer). Full-time, Continuing Position
Working with the Artistic Producer, Scenic Designer, Technical Director and Stage Director, the Properties Master will purchase, build or pull from inventory all necessary props for eight main stage and up to 15 children’s and small stage shows annually.
The props master is responsible for preparing the props budget and monitoring adherence to the approved budget.
Experience working with props in a live stage performance environment and the artistic ability to craft props are required.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
