What’s better than spending a Sunday morning with friends and family and the delicious aromas of freshly baked breads, an array of delicious entrées, and desserts all while enjoying live entertainment? Arizona Broadway Theatre and the City of Peoria have come together to celebrate food and the arts in the community with Sunday Brunch at The ENCORE. The $29, monthly two-hour event features amazing local talent from opera singers, pianists, guitarists, jazz musicians, and more. Bar service starting at 10:00 AM featuring Mimosas and Bloody Marys will be available throughout the event.

Mill Avenue Chamber Players 

Mill Ave Chamber Players (MACP) is a professional chamber music ensemble based in Phoenix, Arizona. Formed in 2007, MACP has received local and national recognition: City of Phoenix Mayor’s Arts Awards nominee (2016), Governor’s Arts Awards nominee (2017), and Chamber Music America recognition for work in community building at the 2017 national conference.

Embarking on its twelfth season, Mill Ave Chamber Players seeks to strengthen communities by presenting quality chamber music performances across the Valley. During the 2019-2020 season, MACP will celebrate its tenth season of concerts at the United Church of Sun City (Sun City, AZ), seventh season at the Glendale Public Library, sixth year as artists-in-residence at Cicero Preparatory Academy (Scottsdale, AZ), fourth year of working with the Phoenix Public Libraries, and second year as artists-in-residence at Changing Hands Book Store.

Committed to community collaboration, MACP has received the Performing Arts Partnership Grant from the City of Glendale (AZ) to continue the 30-year-old “Live at the Library” series at the Glendale Public Library for the sixth consecutive year. Previously, MACP was awarded a grant from the City of Phoenix to participate in ARTSpace, an after-school community arts program. MACP has also performed for and partnered with Rosie’s House: A Music Academy for Children, Phoenix Children’s First Academy, and the Peoria Unified School District through the West Valley Symphony. Mill Ave Chamber Players has held residencies at the University of the Pacific (CA), Glendale Community College, and Paradise Valley Community College and holds an annual summer chamber music camp.

Recently featured performances include the International Women’s Brass Conference in Tempe, AZ (2019), 47th International Horn Symposium in Los Angeles (2015), premiere of John Steinmetz’s dectet Three Pieces with the composer and faculty at the University of the Pacific (2014), the International CALA (Celebración Artística de las Américas) Festival (2013), and the Southwest Horn Conference in Phoenix, AZ (2012).

Mill Ave Chamber Players has recorded three albums: Impressions (2018) with commissions by John Steinmetz, Kerry Turner, Thomas Breadon, Jessica Meyer and Robert Springer; What the Birds Said (2016) with the music of John Steinmetz; and Mill Ave Chamber Players (2014).
