About

Follow the madcap adventures of everyone’s favorite aunt and her adoring nephew.  Surrounded by an eccentric cast of characters, she celebrates the Roaring 20s, shamelessly spoils her “little love,” and perseveres through life with humor and style, all without missing a dance step. Jerry Herman’s Tony-nominated score is packed with musical favorites “Bosom Buddies,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Open a New Window,” “If He Walked Into My Life,” and more.

Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death! That’s the motto of Mame Dennis, one of musical theatre’s all-time greatest heroines, in this brassy, hilarious and touching adaptation of Patrick Dennis’s bestseller, Auntie Mame.

Based on the novel by Patrick Dennis and the play Auntie Mame by Lawrence and Lee. Music and Lyrics by Jerry Herman.

Don't miss this memorable Musical this february!

**NOTICE** THERE WILL BE NO MAME PERFORMANCES HAPPENING FROM FEBRUARY 6 –13 (SUPERBOWL 2023 WEEK)
GENEROUSLY SPONSORED BY BETTE ARONSOHN.

Thank you to Bette Aronsohn, a longtime supporter and patron of Arizona Broadway Theatre, for playing a significant role at the Theatre and in our community!

Being a great aunt herself to three young boys — Ari, Asher, and Adam — Bette fell in love with the musical when she experienced it on Broadway with Angela Lansbury as the iconic musical heroine and Bea Arthur as her best friend, Vera Charles.

Mame represents Broadway. Everything from the entertainment, costumes, and the great music,” says Bette.  “She was such a progressive character… liberal, open-minded, and ahead of her time.  She brilliantly took care of her nephew the best she could, and she told Agnes to go out and live!”

We experienced Mame on Friday, January 27 evening. It was an absolute treat. This show is superb. Every performer outstanding. The orchestra was absolutely incredible and spot on! Renee Kathleen's performance as Mame is one of the best leads I've experienced. Wow!!! The staff and dinner were an absolute delight. It is so good to return to ABT after a long time away. Thank you! 🎶😊❤🎉⭐
