MEET Bette Aronsohn

Bette Aronsohn is a longtime supporter and patron of Arizona Broadway Theatre.  She played a significant role at the Theatre and in our community by sponsoring Mame, an iconic Broadway musical.

Being a great aunt herself to three young boys  Ari, Asher and Adam — Bette fell in love with the musical, Mame, when she experienced it on Broadway with Angela Landsbury as the iconic musical heroine and Bea Arthur as her best friend, Vera Charles.

Mame represents Broadway. Everything from the entertainment, costumes and the great music,” says Bette, “She was such a progressive character…liberal, open-minded and ahead of her time.  She brilliantly took care of her nephew the best she could and when she told Agnus to go out and live!”

Bette Aronsohn pursued a career in theatre in Manhattan before moving to the West Valley of Arizona 20 years ago. Arizona Broadway Theatre’s 2023 production of Mame The Musical 2023 could not be possible without Bette Aronsohn support.

Why I Give

Klaphake? Where have I heard that name before?” he pondered.

Warren and Delores Huebner lived in Minnesota prior to moving to Arizona. While reading the local paper, the couple learned about a new theatre in Peoria, Arizona, and saw a familiar last name, Klaphake. Warren realized it was the same Ron Klaphake, co-founder and then CEO of ABT, that he had worked with years before. That launched a beautiful relationship between the Huebners and Arizona Broadway Theatre. In 2006, the Huebners attended ABT’s production of Brigadoon and from then became longtime supporters and subscribers of the Theatre.

Over the years, the couple attended the theatre’s special events and dozens of shows – one of their favorites being Fiddler on the Roof – and supported ABT’s initiatives and fundraising efforts. In 2016, the couple volunteered their time to the Chair Campaign to raise funds for new theatre chairs. Delores enjoyed volunteering and meeting other patrons, some attending their first ABT show. Warren joined the Board and was the Board Chair for a period of time. The couple truly became a part of the growing ABT family.

Warren and Delores Huebner

When asked why they give to ABT, the Huebners answered with a simple sentiment: “Well, for the next generation!” Warren and Delores are incredibly focused and determined to help keep the arts alive for generations to come, and, with their generous contributions to Arizona Broadway Theatre, they are doing just that. Through their donations, ABT has been able to continue spreading the arts in the West Valley and will forever be grateful to the Huebners for being a part of the ABT family.
A man of great faith, blessed with unbounded kindness and humor that made him a favorite of all who met him, Warren passed away peacefully March 13, 2022, surrounded by Delores, his wife of 57 years, and their immediate family. Our ABT family is deeply saddened by his passing.
