Brief info

Kurtis graduated in 2000 with a degree in Dance Performance from Louisburg College in North Carolina. Kurtis has worked extensively as a dance instructor for studios and conventions across the country. Upon moving to New York, he served as dance captain of the national tours of Crazy for You and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Choreography credits include Gypsy, A Christmas Carol, 42nd Street, Cabaret, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Crazy for You. At ABT, Kurtis has directed, music directed, and choreographed multiple shows. He has choreographed many shows at ABT, winning ariZoni Awards for his work on Anything Goes and 42nd Street. He has also performed in numerous shows at ABT, most recently appearing in Pageant on the Mainstage and A Broadway Christmas Carol in The Encore at ABT.

After graduating in 2000 with a degree in Dance Performance from Louisburg College in North Carolina. He worked for two seasons as a dance captain for Paramount Parks and served as dance captain and choreographer for three shows aboard Carnival Cruise Lines. Upon moving to New York, he served as dance captain of the national tours of Crazy For You and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Choreography credits include Gypsy, A Christmas Carol, 42nd Street, Cabaret, Jesus Christ Superstar, Crazy For You, Elf, and Chicago. At ABT, Kurtis has directed, music directed, and choreographed The Taffetas and I Love You… Now Change, and Crazy For Gershwin. He has also performed in several shows here, including Singin’ In the Rain (Cosmo), The Drowsy Chaperone (George), Cabaret (Emcee), Crazy For You (Bobby Child), Pump Boys and Dinettes (L.M. – Music Director), How to Succeed… (Bud Frump – ariZoni nomination), Hello, Dolly! (Cornelius Hackl), and Pageant (Miss Texas). Kurtis has worked extensively as a dance instructor for studios and conventions across the country and is currently the Associate Artistic Director for ABT.
